The Royal Maritime Club

Welcome to Baby Squids Portsmouth

The Royal Maritime Club swimming pool is conveniently located in central Portsmouth, a few minutes walk from Gunwharf Quays. The site is modern, with the pool having been redesigned and refurbished in 2017, with some free parking available in front of, and to the side of the club. It is a warm water pool heated to a lovely warm 32 degrees, therefore no wetsuits required, and suitable from birth. It has a depth of 1.3 metres and is easily accessed by steps. There are two changing rooms with showers for males and females with a changing table. There are chairs on poolside too for grandparents and other spectators and a great cafe upstairs too!

Our Instructors

All of our teachers understand young children and have a huge amount of experience supporting a variety of abilities. Each of them specialise in the baby, toddler and pre-schooler age groups. Our swimming teachers are the main reason so many of our Squidlets come back term after term.
