Hi, I’m Margarita King, the proud owner of Baby Squids Staffordshire and Nantwich. I’m thrilled to welcome you and your little ones to our friendly swimming family.
With a background in Special Educational Needs (SEN) education, inclusion has always been at the heart of what I do. I believe that every child, no matter their background, ability, or experience, deserves to feel safe, supported, and celebrated. That’s why I’m passionate about creating a warm, open space where all families feel at home, and every child can thrive in the water.
As an experienced swim teacher, I’ve seen firsthand the joy, confidence, and skills that swimming can bring. My mission is to make each session a positive, playful, and memorable experience for you and your little one! Whether it’s their first time in the pool or they’re already splashing with confidence, we’ll make sure they feel proud, empowered, and excited to return each week.
I’m also a performer at heart (Theatre trained in another life), so think storytelling, songs and a whole lot of fun! I believe learning is most effective when it’s joyful and engaging.
So expect smiles, laughter, and LOTS of in-pool singing and dancing as we create magical moments in every lesson.
We want your little ones to leave the water not just wet, but full of giggles, confidence, and happy memories.
At Baby Squids, we’re more than swim classes. We’re a community. A place where parents and carers connect, children explore and grow, and everyone feels included and welcomed, no matter where they’re starting from.

Baby Squids Staffordshire and Nantwich
We have a range of swimming classes in Staffordshire & Nantwich for babies and pre-schoolers; our fully qualified swimming teachers run classes in Stafford, Stone, Stoke on Trent, Crewe and Nantwich. We teach babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers (aged 0 – 10) at these venues across both our Baby Squids and Big Squids programmes. All our pre-school swimmers learn important swimming skills using our progressive milestones programme, whilst always having huge amounts of fun.

The Swim Cave in Stone is a wonderful pool to teach at, and is heated to 31C. The quality of the venue, the welcoming staff and accessible entry make it perfect for babies and toddlers. We do recommend wetsuits for smaller babies at our Stafford baby swimming lessons.

Horton Lodge School Pool in Leek is a pleasure to teach at. A real gem of a pool, surrounded in a welcoming setting and has always been very popular. Well loved school, wonderful welcoming staff. Love Horton!

Our Middlewich pool is a fabulous venue, ideally located with free parking and options for spectators. The warm pool is absolutely perfect for teaching children to swim and for them to earn badges!
Our whole ethos at Baby Squids Staffordshire and Nantwich is about offering fun and progressive swimming lessons, whilst being as flexible as we can. We know that from newborn through to school age, your child develops very fast, hence our Staffordshire baby swimming lessons are built around four Milestones, adapted to their current age and ability. We love it when babies attend from birth, but we welcome all abilities and urge you to join our Staffordshire children’s swimming classes at any point during a term. We like to work together with Mum and Dad developing your child’s swimming skills, and are more than happy to talk through any specific concerns you may have before joining us.

This is our second time with Baby Squids, first with our eldest, and now with our youngest in the Stone classes. The teachers are brilliant, and the structure of the lessons is perfect.
