Welcome! My name is Hannah and I am the Director of the Baby Squids Surrey and North Hampshire franchise. With over 15 years experience of working together with children and families in primary schools, most recently as a Headteacher, I wanted to explore further opportunities to support babies and children in achieving fundamental life skills in a fun and friendly way. Having two young children myself I know only too well the joys of exploring the water but as a parent I wanted to ensure I was doing everything I could to support swimming with safety and skill as well as fun. Working with families to achieve this too is a fundamental part why I joined the Baby Squids team.
Through Baby Squids, my passion for early years learning and love of supporting families is fulfilled, as every session provides a great opportunity for you to bond with your child and our programme is open to children right the way through from birth to 4 years of age. To be part of seeing the pure joy on children’s faces during our fun and creative sessions as well as the delight and pride parents show as their child achieves their new learning skills, is an absolute pleasure and privilege.
I am deeply passionate about developing your child’s skills and confidence in the water. I welcome and encourage input from you as parents, as we travel on the Baby Squids journey together to ensure your child builds a lifelong love of swimming.
We have a variety of swimming lessons in Surrey and North Hampshire. Our fully qualified swimming teachers run swimming lessons in Basingstoke, Cranleigh, Leatherhead and Alton. We teach babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers (aged 0–4) across all of these pools.

We love Ryddenwood private swimming pool in Cranleigh because it’s a lovely & warm & has a great depth of 1.35m, perfect for teaching children to swim as well & suitable for nervous adult swimmers. A lovely hydrotherapy pool in North Waltham heated at 33-34C with good size changing areas and car parking on-site.
East Horsley, Surrey, KT24 6NS
Glenesk School’s pool is lovely and pool heated to 30-31C with graduating steps and a depth of 0.6-0.9 meters, ideal for both parent and babies as well as toddlers to learn to swim. A real gem.

A lovely warm pool heated to 31-33 degrees with a state of the art UV disinfection system that means the chlorine levels stay low compared to standard swimming pools, great for young children.

Forest Pool is located the heart of Alice Holt Forest. It’s a beautiful private pool that is kept at circa 30-32C, suitable for newborn babies onwards. There’s poolside changing and space for spectators too.

A warm pool heated to 34-36 degrees suitable for newborn babies. Centrally located just off Bordon High Street, with free parking nearby. Changing facilities are available and spectators can sit pool-side to enjoy too.

Been taking my little one to Baby Squids since he was around 3 months old. It’s been a lovely way to get him exposed to water and swimming, and he’s now almost three years old and still going. He loves being in the water, and the lessons are so enjoyable, he loves being taught by Sophia.
Classes are kept small and focused which I like and the teachers have always been brilliant. I’m now due my second baby in the next 4 months and will be signing them up to Baby Squids.
