This week’s focus is all about singing. We sing every week at all our baby and toddler swimming lessons, so this week we want to remind you why we love singing and some of its great benefits, not just for your little ones but also for you as parents.
Singing out loud makes us happy!! What better reason is there than that? It releases feel good hormones called endorphins that makes us happy and feel positive. Happy parents, happy babies and happy swim teachers!
By singing with your children we strengthen that special bond, in the pool we create a time dedicated just for you and your little one. No distractions, just you and them to talk, sing and bond together. Plus… It prepares our younger ones for communication. Singing can strengthen lips and tongues, encourage clear speech and open them up to a variety of words.
Who likes to move with the tune? We do! Singing with actions develops coordination, gross and fine motor skills as well as learning how to concentrate. All fab skills in life, not just in water… So let’s get moving!
Your little one doesn’t mind that you don’t sing like Beyonce and nor does your teacher! Remember that your baby loves the sound of your voice and the attention you’re giving them.
