I am extremely excited to introduce you to Carly, a kindred spirit who is super passionate about running swimming classes for families in her local area. Let me introduce you to her properly!!
Carly is a mum of two, Poppy and Harry with a hugely supportive hubby Mike who attended a few of our early meetings. What struck me most about Carly is we really shared similar views on supporting children in the best way possible.
As a teacher for 20 years, she told me stories about the children that she had nurtured during her time in a secondary school, the warmth and passion she had for those kids was so clear to see.
She is also a big supporter of her family, loving nothing more than an evening on the sofa with her kids chilling out (or a cocktail and dance with friends – I told you we were kindred spirits!!). I asked Carly to write a little bit about her story!
“I love living in Cheshire, I am Warrington born and bred and a huge Warrington RLFC fan ‘COME ON THE WIRE!’ I have worked in Warrington, South Manchester, and the Halton area and understand that inclusivity is deeply important and my lessons mirror this. Cheshire is a beautiful area and has a huge part of my heart, and to teach water confidence and safety skills to babies and toddlers here is amazing.
Having been a Secondary Education Teacher for 20 years, I decided to take the ‘plunge’ and get back in the water! I love teaching and developing children’s skills both on land and in water! My Swimming Teacher journey started in 2002 – before I became a Physical Education Teacher, I was a Lifeguard and a Swimming Teacher for David Lloyd, Warrington – I LOVED IT!! So, I decided to leave Secondary Education and run my own business and Baby Squids came into my life at a time when it was most needed! Synchronicity you may say, I would say it is the Universe guiding me! I firmly believe this will be one of the best decisions I have EVER made, not just for me but for my beautiful family and for all the families I will work with in the future.”
Baby Squids Cheshire will be running classes in 4 pools across Cheshire, and Carly is excited to be working with lots of local families in Macclesfield, Sale, Cheadle Hulme and Ellesmere Port. She is midway through her first term and is loving it.
And the most exciting part is that Nic in Wigan has a neighbour, Nic, and Carly have already struck up a great working relationship.
Teamwork is absolutely centric to everything we do at Baby Squids and we all work hard to build those working relationships so that everyone feels they have the support they need.
I’m delighted to be building our northern team and strengthening our set up to continue to provide what I know is the most inclusive and nurturing baby swimming franchise around.
